Job Description

The Geophysicist processes, interprets, and integrates seismic and geophysical data to support exploration and development decision-making. Using industry-leading software platforms, this role provides seismic attribute analysis, depth conversion, and structural interpretation across Suriname's offshore acreage, contributing directly to prospect generation and field development planning.

Responsibilities

Seismic Interpretation & Analysis

  • Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data for structural mapping, fault interpretation, and reservoir characterization.
  • Perform seismic attribute analysis (AVO, impedance inversion, amplitude extraction).
  • Conduct depth conversion, velocity model building, and uncertainty analysis.
  • Develop prospect packages and opportunity portfolios from regional seismic evaluations.

Integration & Collaboration

  • Integrate geophysical data with geological, petrophysical, and reservoir engineering inputs.
  • Support well placement optimization and pre-drill prognosis preparation.
  • Participate in exploration reviews, asset team meetings, and operator engagement.

Technical Reporting

  • Prepare exploration reports, prospect summaries, and technical presentations.
  • Represent technical findings to management, operators, and regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to SEG and AAPG publications where appropriate.

Requirements

  • MSc in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of exploration/development geophysics experience.
  • Proficiency in Landmark or Petrel seismic interpretation software (mandatory).
  • AAPG or SEG membership.
  • Experience in deepwater or Cretaceous basin geophysics is a strong advantage.
