The Instrument & Control Technician maintains, calibrates, and repairs all instrumentation, control systems, and safety shutdown systems on the offshore installation. This specialist role requires deep expertise in field instruments, DCS/PLC systems, and SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems), ensuring that process control and safety critical functions operate reliably at all times.

Responsibilities
Instrumentation Maintenance & Calibration
- Calibrate and maintain field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters).
- Perform loop checks, functional testing, and diagnostics on all instrument systems.
- Maintain and test ESD, F&G, and SIS systems to defined testing schedules.
- Provide control room support on DCS/SCADA instrumentation issues.
Control Systems Support
- Support DCS and PLC maintenance, fault diagnostics, and software updates (Honeywell / ABB).
- Assist with control system modifications and new instrument loop commissioning.
- Maintain HART, Foundation Fieldbus, and Profibus communication systems.
HSE & Documentation
- Perform all instrument work in ATEX zones under CompEx certification.
- Maintain instrument calibration records, loop folders, and instrument index.
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders in the CMMS system accurately.
Requirements
- BSc or HND in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or Process Technology.
- Minimum 5 years of offshore instrumentation and control experience.
- CompEx Ex01–04 certification (mandatory).
- OPITO Instrumentation Technician certificate preferred.
- Proficiency with Honeywell, ABB, or Emerson DCS/PLC systems.
- Knowledge of IEC 61511 (SIS) and functional safety principles.
